Project Description

Wasit Wetland Centre

There’s a real oasis in the cork-dry desert of Dubai: Wasit Wetland, a nature reserve near Sharjah. In the area you can ‘go on safari’ and meet all kinds of birds from the Emirates; flamingos, eagles, egrets and countless wading birds.

In an air-conditioned visitor center, nature lovers, bird watchers, children and their parents can learn a lot about the birds, their habitats, habits, hikes and so on.

Heijmerink Wagemakers was commissioned to the technical development and realisation of the exhibits and interactive games for the Wasit Wetland Center. We did this in pleasant cooperation with designer Sophy Cave.

Noteworthy is the graceful design for the ‘egg-track’ (which egg is produced by which bird?), whereby children move the eggs to the right bird via special rails.
