Museum Prinsenhof Delft

From 31 October 2015, Museum Prinsenhof Delft and Stedelijk Museum Schiedam will show the complete story of the internationally renowned Delft artist Jan Schoonhoven (1914-1994).

Schoonhoven is best known for his abstract white reliefs, in which he plays with light, just like Johannes Vermeer did three centuries earlier. With this in mind, Schoonhoven is typified as a Delft master and the Vermeer of the twentieth century.

Heijmerink Wagemakers built this temporary exhibition for Museum Prinsenhof after a design by Atelier Alkema. Striking detail is that the Delft University of Technology developed a light cabin especially for this exhibition, a man-high display case, in which the white reliefs of the artist come into their own.

The exhibition ‘Kijk, Jan Schoonhoven’ can be seen from 31 October to 14 February 2016.
