Irish National Stud & Gardens

The Irish National Stud & Gardens in Kildare (Ireland) gained a wonderful new experience; the Irish Racehorse Experience. An experience about the story of the thoroughbred breed and horse racing in Ireland.

The experience in the Irish National Stud & Gardens takes the visitor into the world of thoroughbred horses. The visitor experiences what it is like to prepare a foal for his first race and a glorious career. You will discover what is needed to accomplish this and what distinguishes a “normal” horse from a racing horse.

From choosing nutrition to learning training methods, everything a thoroughbred needs for success is presented and simulated with various installations. Every visitor is challenged with the help of a tablet game to educate and train his/her race horse to actually ride the winning horse across the finish line.

To ride? Yes, at the end of the experience you will take place on one of the 8 full-size interactive race horses in the “Big Race” where the applied technology ensures a realistic and unforgettable experience. If you trained your horse properly in the 600m2 experience, you will win the race!

The realization of the Irish Racehorse Experience was a great collaboration between Irish National Stud & Gardens Heijmerink Wagemakers and a couple of our regular suppliers.  The experience was designed by the Irish design agency DMW Creative. Heijmerink Wagemakers was responsible for project management, design engineering and production of the experience. With the productions of the audiovisual content (films, photography, games and interactives) MCW / creative agency has really brought the experience to life. Hypsos was responsible for the qualification of the project. Rapenburg Plaza provided the necessary hardware, programming and installations for playing the content.
