Project Description

Catharijneconvent Utrecht

in January 2013 the monstrance from Museum Catharijneconvent in Utrecht was stolen with a brutal ram raid. Three weeks later the police found him back and in May of that year the valuable object was placed back under great (media) interest in the Treasury of the museum.

The masterpiece has been part of the Dutch heritage for centuries and has been restored to its former glory by restorer Michiel Langeveld. The Catharijneconvent entrusted Heijmerink Wagemakers with the assignment to restore the showcase for the monstrance.
