Project Description

Technopolis

Ever wanted to freeze time? This super cool setup at the Belgian science center Technopolis will succeed! Inspired by the movie The Matrix, we developed a fully automatic Bullet Time (also known as Time Slice) installation together with Yipp’s digital experience experts.

The set-up with 48 SLR cameras counts down from 5 to 0. Then the cameras take 48 high-quality photos with super accurate timing. The smart software, specially developed by YiPP, automatically converts the photos into a video within a maximum of 8 minutes.

The result is sent to the large screen and to the personal Technopolis webpage that the visitor has created in advance. So at home you can enjoy that great, frozen karate kick for a long time to come!

Heijmerink Wagemakers led the project, took care of a stable construction and the physical elements. A good example of engineered integration of airframe and AV technology in a well-directed project.
